It’s all too easy for an accidental spark to start a fire, and a few seconds before those flames begin to blaze. However, using a foam insulation with a fire resistance rating offers defense against fires. The spray of the right insulation can stop a small spark from turning into a raging fire.

Fire resistant foam insulation contains fire retardant, and is specifically formulated for fire resistant use. These foams are intended to resist flaming, and slow flame spread. However, they cannot stop a fire from spreading indefinitely.

XtraFoam™FB Expanding Foam is a one-component, multipurpose, polyurethane foam specially formulated to be applied in areas where the wall system requires an ASTM-E84 fire resistance rating. The product can be used to form an insulating barrier to block smoke, gas, drafts, moisture and insects.

XtraFoam™FB’s advanced chemistry ensures excellent adhesion to most substrates, and an excellent water-resistant, airtight seal – as well as outstanding thermal and acoustical insulation. The product contains no CFC’s or HCFC’s, so it is environmentally friendly.
